BioToken complements the USB smart card-based token family with biometric functionality.
The BioToken combines chip card and fingerprint sensor with image processing and verification processor in a single device. This makes it a complete system for biometric authentication and digital signature - and offers the utmost in mobility and ease of operation.
BioPocket The innovatory card readers with biometric technology, in USB key format, combine the following elements into various configurations:

Their compact size make them a handy, pocket-size and multipurpose product, thanks also to the embedded flash memory (available in the Combo versions) that boasts a maximum capacity of 512 MB.
The memory disc is controlled as a logic unit available among the system resources and immediately recognized at the key insertion.
The whole area is optionally subdivided into 8 partitions, to be chosen among the following types:
- Standard Mass Storage, where data can be stored and visualized;
- CD-ROM, with Autorun function;
- Encrypted Mass Storage, with AES 256 bit;
- Write-protected Mass Storage, that is a read-only partition;
- Read- and write-protected Mass Storage
As for the biometric component, it is possible to choose between two sensor models, Authentec or Upek, respectively suggested for use of standard identification purposes or strong authentication. In the configurations that also offer the smart card component (BioSmartPocket and BioSmartPocket Combo), the integrated reader is CCID compliant with high performance levels in terms of card access speed.
BioToken FOCUS
StarSign® Bio Token 3.0 completes the family of USB smart cards tokens thanks to the use of advanced biometric functionalities, making up the first 3- authentication-factor token. The result is an even deeper security level that offers the latest technological security standards for the protection of IT system access.
The Bio Token combines a chip card with a fingerprint sensor for image processing and verification into one single device. This makes it a complete system for biometric authentication and digital signature, offering extreme mobility and user-friendliness. Thanks to a technology that runs the matching procedure directly on the card, fingerprint reference data on the integrated chip smart card are compared with the data acquired by the sensor for verification purposes.
Authentication does not require an additional card or a fingerprint scanner, or even a separate software for image processing. If the User's digitized fingerprint is stored on the token, the whole comparison process takes place on the chip (on-card matching). This way the biometrical data are not stored on the PC, thus guaranteeing high protection for the User's data and privacy.

Image processing and verification are directly carried out on the card. Differently from a contact sensor, which would request the Users to place their finger on the device, with Bio Token the Users slide their finger over a slot, thus generating a line-byline image. This Technology offers the following advantages:

B. absence of interfering agents such as dust and dirt
C. larger active surface for the image
